Mission Statement

Northampton Jindokai Karate & Self Defence Club

Jindokai practitioners and dojo are extremely friendly with a strong sense of morality and traditional Japanese etiquette.

The club is very much attuned to children as well as adults and many families practice karate within the group developing strong friendships outside of Jindokai as a result.

Our mission is to promote a partnership between students and instructors so as to provide students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential in the study of karate-do, whether in the dojo, on courses, seminars or in competition, as well as to promote the art of traditional karate.
To this end we will;

  1. Recognise effort and ability equally irrespective of gender, religion, ethnicity or educational background ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to study and perform karate-do to the best of their ability.

  2. Build effective links with schools, local authorities and sport development programmes as well as responding to changes in National Governing Bodies ensuring instruction of highest standards possible

  3. Promote a friendly and welcoming environment for students creating a personalised approach to their social, technical and physical development which advocates strong beliefs in fair play and encourages all to abide by rules of the dojo.

  4. Support students with the freedom to train in other styles, associations or dojos.

  5. Agree to honour non Jindokai grades previously attained subject to verification with the precondition that a student must present themselves for a Jindokai grading within 12 months at which point their grade within Jindokai will be assessed.
